About UK iPhone
What this site is all about
We created this site to keep track of all of the news and information about the launch of iPhone in the UK.
The stunning US launch of iPhone, that had people queuing around the block, days before the launch day, has sparked interest worldwide. Apple sold nearly a million of these iconic phones on the first weekend they were available in the US. But so far Apple have not said anything about launching elsewhere, beyond a vague “3rd quarter” launch date for Europe. When will the amazing iPhone be launched in the UK, and where will you be able to buy it?
One option will be Apple itself: there are Apple stores on Regent Street and in Brent Cross Shopping Centre in London, and the iPhone will probably be available online as well. But will you be able to buy it from your local Carphone Warehouse or Orange store?
Well, that all depends. In the US, the iPhone is available from only one network (AT&T). If Apple follow the same strategy in Europe, then only one network will be able to sell the iPhone in the UK. The rumour mill has been in overdrive about contracts with all of the major networks.
We’ll keep you updated on all of the latest news, and take a critical look at the rumour mill and the antics of the online retailers, as well as news about the capabilities of this ground-breaking device. To stay up to date, make sure you subscribe!
