The great iPhone hack?
So a group of security “researchers” (ie hackers) have made their bid for fame by “hacking” iPhone. Never mind that it involves an implausible amount of work on the part of the hacker (who has to know which wi-fi networks your iPhone already trusts, and then lie in wait with a wi-fi hotspot programmed with the same name- and spoof one of the web pages you go to as well), the geniuses who pass for journalists these days will lap it up, and pass it on as if gospel.
I wouldn’t lose too much sleep if I had an iPhone; Apple will patch the largely theoretical hole in no time, and in the meantime, just stay away from those dodgy websites!
